In May 2009, I got hired at Crispin Porter + Bogusky with some help from the Twitterverse.
The idea was that I'd donate a dollar to charity up to $200 for each tweet sent to Alex Bogusky and Jeff Benjamin of CP+B on my behalf. The tweets contained a link to my portfolio site where visitors could learn about the project and see my Request for Employment to CP+B. A few tweets were sent to ad industry bloggers to kick off the project.
Twitterers could either send to Alex Bogusky to donate $1 to The James Lee Foundation or tweet at Jeff Benjamin to donate $1 to The MS Society of Canada.
Within one week, 80 tweets had been sent to Alex and Jeff in addition to hundreds of tweets about the project in general. There were over 10,000 unique visits to the project page and I received a bunch of press, including a segment on Global National news in Canada.
